Who We Are?

CHINMAYA MISSION

Chinmaya Mission® was established in India in 1953 by devotees of the world-renowned Vedanta teacher, His Holiness Swami Chinmayananda. Guided by his vision, devotees all around the world formed the nucleus of a spiritual renaissance movement that now encompasses a wide range of spiritual, educational, and charitable activities, ennobling the lives of thousands in India and across its borders. Presently, headed by His Holiness Swami Swaroopananda, the Mission is administered by Central Chinmaya Mission Trust (CCMT) in Mumbai, India. Under his guidance, the Mission has continued mushrooming across the globe and stands today with over 300 centres worldwide.

Chinmaya Mission Singapore

Chinmaya Mission Singapore, is a branch of global Chinmaya Mission, a non-profit organization with a dedication to sharing the wisdom found in India’s original scriptural texts. The Mission was initiated by H.H Swami Chinmayananda, a trailblazer who reinvigorated the study of ancient Vedic texts, making their profound principles accessible to the general public. He led Singapore’s inaugural Gita Jnana Yajna in 1967, and his vision lives on through a lineage of skilled spiritual teachers.
Under the guidance of the present spiritual leader, Swami Swaroopananda, the Chinmaya Mission has a presence in over 250 centers around the world. This includes 89 Chinmaya Schools (81 in India + 8 in Trinidad and Tobago), 9 Chinmaya Colleges, 1 Nursing Institute, 1 University, numerous temples, ashrams, research institutes, as well as diverse social, cultural, educational, religious, and spiritual initiatives, including programs for empowering women.
In Singapore, we provide various classes for spiritual growth and personal development for all age groups, aligned with the Mission’s motto of bringing maximal happiness to the greatest number of people for the longest duration. The activities of Chinmaya Mission Singapore concentrate on both nurturing spiritual advancement and serving the community.

Pujya Swami Swaroopananda ji’s Yajna at Singapore

What an incredible Yagna Singapore hosted for Pujya Swami Swaroopananda from March 13-17, 2024.

Evening talks were on Gita Ch 9 – The Great Secret. Swamiji so carefully and with so much enthusiasm unravelled the confidential message by Shri Krishna to all… The message of Love.

Morning classes were on Adi Shankaracharya’s Pratah Smarami. Swamiji in his gentle voice made us discover the transformative power of our thoughts in the early hours with meditation that lifted us to a higher dimension of Consciousness.

Our total gratitude to Pujya Swamiji, who so patiently spends time for all who want to explore their Inner Self.

On the 13th evening, the Yajna was Inaugurated by our very special guests – The Chairman of the Hindu Endowment Board, Shri Rajan Krishnan and Chairman of the Hindu Advisory Board Shri Sengkuttuvan, who lit the inaugural lamp along with Pujya Swami ji, Swami Avyayananda and President of Chinmaya Seva Centre Shri Chandru Bharwani.

In Swami Avyayananda’s presence and guidance, the sevaks and sevikas worked devotedly in the spirit of Sacrifice and Seva, to ensure the Yajna was a great success.
